Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning FE Roll helps prepare workpieces for gleaming finishes by doing the heavy lifting up front; some its best uses include deburring and blending. Jumbo rolls enable conversion by the end user for specific applications.High Initial Rate of Cut
The Surface Conditioning Surface Conditioning FE Roll combines nonwoven nylon fibers and aluminum oxide mineral using a resin bond to create an open web. Among the surface conditioning materials, FE material is best when high contact pressure and stock removal are required.
Its resin bond tolerates heat and enhances overall abrasive durability. The aluminum oxide mineral is friable and fragments under heat and pressure to reveal sharp cutting edges, and this cycle of renewal keeps the abrasive cutting fast. Moreover, gaps between the nonwoven fibers allow swarf and debris to escape, prolonging abrasive service life.
Aluminum oxide mineral renders this abrasive a good match for use on ferrous metals, high nickel / chrome alloys and stainless steel. Its open web is buoyant and responds to surface irregularities, so it works well on both flat and contoured surfaces.
Great Versatility
Our Surface Conditioning Surface Conditioning FE Roll comes in a variety of grades, so users can select the right grade for their particular project. Additionally, the rolls are color coded by grade, which helps users save time and avoid error when using multiple grades in a sequence. The roll may be cut or shaped for its intended purpose.
Overall, surface conditioning products provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers than Buff & Blend products. Surface Conditioning products have a woven polyester fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability for edge work, deburring and efficient blending of all metal types. Each of the four Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning materials offers unique benefits – helping you find an abrasive tailored to meet your needs.
