LOCTITE® EA 9340 Epoxy Adhesive (formerly known as Hysol® Epoxi-Patch 9340) is a two-component, general-purpose epoxy adhesive renowned for its exceptional high-temperature performance and chemical resistance. It is designed to bond various substrates, including wood, metal, ceramics, and most plastics. After curing, the adhesive can be sanded, drilled, and painted, making it ideal for finish work.
Key Features:
High-Temperature Performance: Maintains bond strength at elevated temperatures.
Chemical Resistance: Withstands exposure to various chemicals, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Versatility: Bonds multiple substrates, including wood, metal, ceramics, and most plastics.
Work-Life: Offers a working time of approximately 90 minutes, allowing for precise application.
Curing Time: Full cure is achieved in 24 hours at room temperature; curing can be accelerated with heat if desired.
Post-Cure Machinability: Once cured, it can be sanded, drilled, and painted, facilitating further processing or finishing.
Typical Applications:
General-purpose bonding in industrial and automotive settings.
Repair and maintenance tasks require durable adhesive solutions.
Applications where resistance to high temperatures and chemicals is essential.
Available Sizes:
2.7 oz (approximately 80 mL) Kit: Suitable for small to medium-sized applications.
Application Instructions:
Surface Preparation: Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as oil, grease, or dust.
Mixing: Combine Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) in a 1:1 ratio by volume. Mix thoroughly until a uniform gray color is achieved.
Application: Apply the mixed adhesive to one of the prepared surfaces. Join the parts and clamp them together to maintain contact during curing.
Curing: Allow the assembly to cure undisturbed. Complete cure is typically achieved in 24 hours at room temperature. For faster curing, heat can be applied.
Safety and Handling:
Use in a well-ventilated area.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses.
Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed safety information.
