Designed with a strong polyester film backing and sharp diamond mineral, 3M Diamond Microfinishing Film 675L delivers fine finishes on hard metals, thermal spray coating, ceramics, carbides, chilled iron and granite.Diamond Mineral: Sharp Cut, Fine Finishes
Our 3M™ Diamond Microfinishing Film PSA Disc 675L was designed for and fast finish reduction on hard materials – it’s a disc that helps operators swiftly and effectively remove thermal spray coatings, ceramics, carbides, chilled iron and granite. Spanning markets, 675L is commonly used in the transportation, general industrial, precision grinding and finishing and aerospace industries.
Diamond cuts well when moderate to medium pressure is applied. It offers an efficient alternative in most applications except those requiring the finest possible finishes. Altogether, diamond mineral renders this disc a great option for tough coating and hard to grind material removal.
Disc 675L is available in grades 125 and 74 micron to refine thermal sprayed surfaces and 45, 30, 20 and 9 micron for finer finishes. We offer the disc in a range of grades, so operators can choose a disc that's tailored to their unique project needs.
Polyester-Backed Abrasive May Be Run Wet or Dry
The polyester backing on 3M™ Microfinishing PSA Film Disc 675L is water resistant, so the disc may be run wet if desired. Adding a lubricant like water can help minimize build up and wash away swarf, which prevents the abrasive from getting clogged; it helps keep the abrasive cut sharp and run cool.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) for Easy Disc and Tool Attachment
We included pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) in the design of 675L, so disc to tool attachment would be swift and easy. The PSA backing holds the disc securely in place during use, and removes cleanly from the backup pad (sold separately), leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. It's designed for use with orbital and random orbital sanders.
Overall, this micron-graded diamond abrasive delivers the desired finish without compromising the integrity of the substrate. Its strength and versatility make it a great disc for your finishing needs.
