Fast and free-cutting, the 3M Cut-Off Wheel 654BJ is used to trim carbide cutting tool blanks to length for the cutting tool manufacturing industry. This 1A1R wheel is offered in offered in 100 and 220 grit in the following dimension: 6 inches in diameter,0.035 inches thick, and a 1.25-inch arbor hole.Precise, Efficient Cutting, Part After Part
The 3M Cut-Off Wheel 654BJ is. designed for trimming carbide tool blanks to length. This fast- and free-cutting wheel is available in diamond grades of 100 and 220 and should be run with a water based coolant. The use of coolant is critical for it removes heat away from the workpiece and wheel, adds lubricity reducing grinding friction and helps to clear away swarf.
Wheel Design
Cut-off wheels are thin abrasive wheels typically used on the cutting end of the tool when re-grinding and on the shank end when forming a blank. The abrasive surface of the 3M Cut-Off Wheel 654BJ is the periphery, where it is coated with diamond to a depth of 6.35 mm. This wheel generally cuts radially through the workpiece. (image)
3M Superabrasive Wheels: Ready to Ship or Custom Engineered
The 3M Cut-Off Wheel 675BJ is part of our broad portfolio of superabrasive wheels, including general-purpose and standard CNC grinding wheels, backed by technical support, available in stock, ready for shipment.
3M technical support will always work closely with you to find the right configuration of features to meet your target parameters consistently and efficiently or engineer a product that will.
Our diamond and CBN superabrasive wheels are designed for today's most challenging applications, from grinding hardened steels and super alloys to finishing materials like glass, ceramics and tough composites in automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, primary metal, medical and other areas where machining with conventional cutting materials is not cost-effective because of the materials which need to be machined (glass, ceramics, carbides, etc.).
3M has the tools you need to achieve stringent geometry tolerances and finish specs, part after part.
